Used in clamps for pipes on exterior or interior walls. It secures the clamp to the surface it is driven into, and the other half of the clamp is then joined to complete the pipe fastening. It also plays an important role in securing wooden components. Due to its square shape, it prevents rotation around its own axis once driven in.
